Thanksgiving dinner and flowers

Here's my plate on Monday, sooo yummy. Note the absence of cranberry jelly. I hate the stuff lol:

I made some sugar tarts for dessert:

Leftover stuffing with snails in herb sauce I made this week. I didn't have enough butter to make the snails with only butter and herbs, so I added about as much milk, and then thought of adding flour to thicken it up. It was really yummy, I'm just annoyed that I took a can of giant snails by mistake at the store instead of regular ones, which I prefer:

Here was my little helper/cleanup crew while I made the sugar tarts:

And some flowers we brought home from the thanksgiving dinner at church:

  1. No one in my family likes cranberry sauce either... but me lol... but what really caught my eye was the sugar tarts. I can't imagine a better dessert than that! Unfortunately we can't get Sugar Pie in Ontario any longer and seeing that we just moved to the US, I don't know when I will get it next. Any chance that you will share a recipe for that??

    :) fingers crossed.

  2. The original recipe is here http://www.recettes.qc.ca/recettes/recette.php?id=1168&rdj=&pub= , but seeing as it's in french I'll translate:

    4 cups brown sugar
    3 tbsp flour
    10tbsp butter
    2 eggs, beaten
2 cups Carnation brand condensed milk
    1 tsp vanilla extract
    4 pie crusts

    1. Mix flour and sugar. Add the milk, melted butter, eggs and vanilla extract. Mix well.

    2. Pour into un-baked pie crusts. Bake at 350 for 30 to 35 minutes.

  3. Sorry it's evaporated milk, not condensed.
