So I moved in with my friends Stephan, Christelle and Jen. The move went well, we got it all done in one day, and my mattress dried out well even after getting soaked in the rain. We started at 2:30 and finished at around midnight. The evening was finished with LOTS of pizza, Guinness, good rum and Alizé.
Here's me packed into the back of my dad's van, sitting on an armchair in the van:

I unpacked for about 2 hours earlier today and got about 1/3 of it done. I'm gonna go continue now.
Last weekend and this week have been busy. Today was the St-Jean Baptiste (a.k.a. Fete Nationale) and I worked so I could have tomorrow off and start my 2-week vacation a day early. I even got off work early today because there weren't a lot of calls, at 4:30. I went home, went on the internet a bit, and took a nap. I got up at around 6:30 and cleaned the filter on my air purifier, made dinner, and now I've started a load of laundry.
I'm finally gonna start packing tonight. I'm moving in with my friends Stephan and Christelle on Monday. So that leaves me tonight and tomorrow to pack since I don't think I'll have time between d&d on Saturday, church and tams and hotpot on Sunday. Worst comes to worst I can always finish packing Monday and move on Tuesday. Tomorrow Elias is coming over to help me pack and hang out for a while and we're gonna go pick up Richard at 10pm and head to Steph's place to sleep over. I can't wait till tomorrow :D
Then depending on whether Elias is working next week or the week after, we're gonna go to my parents for a few days sometime soon. And on the 10th of July a bunch of us are going to a friend's place in the country to camp for a night. Besides that I have nothing planned for my vacation. I'll have plenty of unpacking to do though.
Yesterday me and Elias were talking about going to the Highland Games. It's been years since I've been, I'm definitely gonna go this year. All the chips, haggis and beer a girl can want. I can't wait!
I had read about this place before on Shut Up And Eat, and now I found a review of it on Chowhound. Both are glowing, I'm thinking I really really have to go eat there soon. I was already eager to eat there after reading the first review a few weeks ago, and the one on Chowhound made me decide to bump it up to the next resto I go to hopefully.
This is nearly making me cry at work right now. I think coffee doesn't help for making me a bit emo though lol. I want to reread The Way of the Pilgrim now.
On Saturday I played d&d with Steph, Richard, Elias and Dave for the first time, as a pixie! :P I've been nicknamed the Evil Glitter Fairy since college so I wanted to make a character as close to a fairy as possible. It was lots of fun :D
Yesterday I went to church and the tams afterward as usual, stopping by the SAQ and the grocery store too. At around 6 or 7 me, Elias, Pierre, Richard and Kia (Elias' mom) all left and stopped at Elias' place to drop off some stuff and then we (except for Kia) went to Pierre's a few blocks away for bbq. Then me, Richard, Pierre and Elias all headed back at around 9pm or so. I'll upload pics later today if I have time.
Oh, and I realized that Elias is the first Orthodox friend I've made in real life :D I can't wait to have someone to say "Christ is risen!" to besides the other parishioners at my church :)
I just discovered this. I must get myself some edible cake glitter! For those of you that don't know, my nickname from college was the Evil Glitter Fairy. I earned it doing heinous acts of spray glittering (deserved or not) that will remain unmentioned here. Lol :P. But go look at the glittery pizza!!! It has star-shaped pepperoni!!!!!
Last week I finally made the Hooroorook noodles. I added some furikake, freshly ground white pepper, old cheddar and chopped kielbasa. It was so good!
On Monday the whole city was under a blanket of smoke because of the forest fires further north. Luckily it only lasted for a few hours, when I got off work in the evening it didn't smell like smoke anymore. Here's a picture I took from work:
And another day this week while I was waiting for my bus at Angrignon I saw an accident happen, one coach bus backed right up into another one. The mirror was crooked and they couldn't get the door open all the way but the windshield was fine though:
When I finish work in half an hour I'm going to finally go visit Olives et Epices, I've been meaning to go there for a while now. I'm also going to Aqua Mare, which is at the Jean-Talon market as well, for some delicious fried seafood. I can't wait!
I decided to change my desktop at work to this pic:
It represented a lot how I felt in Jan-Feb. Grey and gloomy. I change my desktop at work according to the general mood in that period of my life. I'm so looking forward to this summer :D I'm really happy to have made a bunch of new friends to hang out with every weekend. Not that I didn't like hanging out with Steph. But it's always fun to meet new people. And so far the new people I've met are really amazing, I'm looking forward to getting to know them all better.
I've had so much fun with them :D Nowadays I spend the first half of the week reminiscing about the fun I had the previous weekend, and the second half looking forward to the fun I'll have on the coming weekend. Last weekend I saved my last $20 for the week to go eat at the Hotpot with the guys after the Tams lol. But it was ok I didn't need to buy anything this week, my fridge was already full.
Tomorrow I'm probably gonna go over to Steph's place to watch some more Tsubasa Chronicles and xXxHoLic. We're only about 4 or 5 eps. in, I'll see if we can watch some more on Sat. night too. The guys (Elias, Richard, Dave and Dew) will be coming over really late, like 1am or so, on Fri. to be able to start the game early on Saturday since they're doing something Sat. night.
I'm probably gonna go on a box-getting expedition on Saturday if I have nothing else to do, and maybe start packing as well. Only 3 weeks till I move! :D I've started throwing out a bunch of stuff already, I want to get rid of everything I can to make moving easier. Plus I'll have a lot less room over there, I'll be sharing the place with Christelle and Steph.
This week has been really good so far, sleep-wise. I've actually managed to get to bed by 9:30-9:45ish for 3 days straight now! This is the first time this has happened in months. It's so nice to be awake! It's annoying that my body needs min. 9 hours of sleep to function properly. I've been taking my multivitamins too, which seems to help. I normally don't go on writing binges like this unless I've drank coffee lol.
I was thinking last night that it's been a while since I've posted anything substantial on my blog and that I should write something today. The pics from last weekends Tams are already up on Photobucket so I can just link to them. Warning: random immature male silliness:
I also have a really cool video of people doing Capoeira across the street from the Tams but can't post it since Youtube is blocked at work. Argh. I'll post it when I get home tonight.
