So I haven't been blogging much here lately. Let's see... didn't go to Tams last weekend, it was raining and cold all day so after church I went to Chinatown to get some pastries and then I went home for a nap.
I was dead tired cause I had only about 4 hours of sleep the night before. Kris texted me around midnight drunk saying he wanted to off himself, so I spoke with him for a while and made him promise to call me as soon as he woke up the next morning. He called me back at 6:30am, he didn't remember anything of the night before except that he felt like shit and had me all worried. He reread all our texts. He seemed to be doing better, and we've been talking often since then. He called me the other day to ask me to pray for his cousin's girlfriend who was having it pretty bad too. I'm hoping and praying that he'll be ok till he moves here at the end of October and has time to see someone about his depression since he works 12 hour days 6 days a week. Sigh.
Carlo has been coming over on the weekends lately as well, we went to eat at a really nice Haitian restaurant on Monday night. We're planning a camping trip with him, me and Kris, we'll ask my friend/roommate Stephan if he wants to come too, don't know if it'll happen this year though seeing as Carlo works Saturdays and Kris won't be here till this fall.
Kris is coming to visit for Labor Day weekend, we're planning a big birthday bash for my sister and Steph whose birthdays are on the 5-6th of Sept. We're gonna go to L'auberge du Dragon Rouge (a medieval-themed restaurant) on Sat. night and continue the party at our place afterward. It's a good thing I bought that queen-sized air mattress cause we'll have a few guests sleeping over most likely, and my other roommate Christelle will be home too :) Then we're going to LaRonde on Monday. I can't wait!
My sister has been visiting on weekends often this summer, last time she came over we went to the Tams and then to an all-you-can-eat sushi place called Kanda's with Carlo. We gave her an early birthday present, a camera she had been wanting for a while. I told Steph to take a picture of her with it as soon as she walked in the door and see how long it took her to realize it was her camera lol. So we have a nice pic of her with a "whaaaaat?!?" look on her face :D She was so happy :D
I've been meaning to go buy some hickory wood chips at Canadian Tire so I can try making an improvised hot smoker out of my little gas bbq (grill for those of you in the states). I'll have to wait another week or so though cause I'm short on funds till next Friday.
I've been dead tired all week, went to bed at around 1am on Sunday night, again on Monday night, Tuesday actually got to bed at around 10:15pm, yesterday too. All that's been keeping me awake is the pseudo-ephedrine in my allergy pills lol. Yesterday wasn't so bad though. Maybe I'll get to bed by 9:30 tonight?
Work was busy yesterday. Hopefully it won't be as busy today. I should upload some pictures sometime soon too. I have a bunch sitting on my computer for a while now.
A few weeks ago I was sad to hear that the priest in Rawdon (where my parents live) who baptized me was moving to Saskatoon to take care of a parish there. There were no plans for a replacement at the small skete where he was, a picture of which is the header of this blog. It's an OCA parish, there's also a ROCOR parish there but I hope that they'll keep that one alive. I wonder what will happen to it. There was a going-away party that I went to, but forgot to bring my camera. Other people have pictures that I'll get eventually though. I have more pictures of that church here.
